For over 150 years, the Appalachian Mountain Club has been at the forefront of conservation and outdoor recreation. The AMC Archives serve as the steward of this legacy, collecting and preserving a vast array of historical documents and memorabilia. Our mission is to foster discovery by providing access to these materials for researchers, educators, and the public alike. Our holdings include everything from corporate, chapter and committee records to personal diaries, summit registers, and fragile hut logbooks that capture the voices of mountain travelers from decades past. The collection is particularly renowned for its visual history, boasting more than 50,000 images dating from the 1870s to today.
